MAT December 2026: Exam Dates, Registration and Fees
AIMA’s December 2026 MAT runs in two modes on separate dates. The paper-based test is on 20 December, with registration closing on 14 December. The computer-based test is on 27 December, with registration closing on 21 December. Both windows close at 11:50 PM. The reported fee is ₹2,300 for one mode and ₹4,000 for both.

The September session (13 and 20 September) has already been held and is closed. December is the next opportunity, and registration is open now.
A timing detail worth knowing
The CBT registration deadline, 21 December, falls before the likely CAT result date. Past results have landed on 23 or 24 December, though the official wording is the first week of January (details here). So if you want a MAT score in hand as insurance, you have to register without knowing your CAT percentile. The cost of waiting is that you’d miss the window; the cost of registering is the fee.
Why MAT is the flexible fallback
MAT is the test most often named by the colleges in our directory after CMAT and XAT: 113 of the 197 list it. It’s also the last big national test on the calendar. NMAT registration has been extended to 25 October, SNAP on 25 November and XAT on 6 December, so by late December MAT and CMAT (7 February 2027, provisional) are what’s left.
