CAT College Predictor: MBA Colleges for Your Percentile and Budget
Type in your CAT percentile, set a fee ceiling if you have one, and the tool lists colleges from our 197-college directory whose admitted-student band your score reaches. It’s a shortlist generator, not a promise: bands move every year and every college makes its own call.
| College | Where | CAT band | Total fee | Avg placement | Tests | Fit |

How the tool decides
Every college in our directory has a CAT band: the range of percentiles it has actually been admitting from. The tool compares your percentile with that band and gives each college one of three tags.
- Comfortable: your percentile is at or above the top of the band. You'd be among the stronger applicants.
- Likely: your percentile falls inside the band, so you're in the range where most admitted students land.
- Stretch: you're up to five points below the bottom of the band. Possible, but you'd be relying on the rest of your profile, such as work experience and the interview.
Colleges more than five points above your score are left out. Nothing here accounts for category relaxations, institute-specific weightings, or interviews, which is why the best next step after using it is to read the individual college page and the band pages.
What it can't tell you
- It isn't a guarantee. A band describes who was admitted, not who will be.
- State and university seats follow their own rules. Where a college names a state or university test, the CAT band may not be what decides your seat. Check the Tests column, and see the state test calendar.
- Placement figures are the institutes' own averages. "n/a" means no figure in our data, not zero.
- The data has a date. It was last verified on 4 September 2026. Confirm fees and cut-offs with the college before you apply, and check its AICTE approval before you pay anything.
We don't ask for your name or number to use this. If you'd like a person to sanity-check your shortlist, the free-shortlist form is on the homepage.
Questions people ask
Is there a free CAT college predictor for a low percentile?
Yes, the tool above. It uses the percentile bands of the 197 colleges in our directory and works for any score, including below 50.
How accurate is a college predictor?
It's a starting shortlist. Bands change each year, and colleges also weigh interviews, work experience and academics, so treat the tags as likelihoods, not outcomes.
What does 'Stretch' mean?
Your percentile is up to five points under the bottom of the college's band. Admission is possible but depends on the rest of your profile.
Does this work if I'll take CMAT or MAT instead of CAT?
Use the 'A test you can take' filter to see colleges that name the test. The band still shows the CAT percentile the college has been admitting from, so use it as a guide to selectivity, not a cut-off for the other test.
